I assist children who have communication difficulties that can affect success in and outside of the classroom. Communication difficulties include problems with language such as poor vocabulary, reading and writing development and poor social use of language as well as problems with swallowing, voice, and fluency and articulation disorders, such as stuttering.
I employ an evidence and research based practice and provide families from diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds the support they need to help their child get the services they need and deserve.
Communication skills are key components of learning; reading and writing performance are determined by a child’s ability in spoken language. The ability to communicate in a socially appropriate manner will benefit children of all developmental abilities because problem solving and being able to communicate needs and wants is an integral part of the learning environment.
