How Our Classroom Is Managed
Inclusion in the classroom is managed when a general education teacher and a special education teacher work together with other professionals such as the speech language therapist and the occupational therapist to teach typically developing children and children with varying disabilities in one classroom. Children work together in all subject areas with added assistance for children with disabilities. The general education teacher prepares the lesson plans and the special education teacher modifies the work to meet the needs and support the children with disabilities. The occupational therapist and speech language therapist incorporate these lessons into their therapies within the classroom which benefits each child regardless of developmental ability. Collaboration of our team of professionals means ongoing assessment and modifications to ensure that each child has a successful learning experience.
